Rocky Mountain National Park
I did three hikes in RMNP and I look forward to coming back and hike less populated areas. I just don't like overcrowded places and this is one of them if you dont start hiking early.
Some pics from the Bluebird Lake trail, where you can find the Calypso cascades, Ouzel falls, and the beautiful Bluebird alpine lake.
I did a hike up Mount Ida in a very cloudy day, so I couldn't take pics at the top. On the way back the sun started to come out and I realized that the views would have been amazing. I did manage to catch some elk play fighting.
Due to the altitude, this was the exhausting hike up to Flattop Mountain (you can see Tyndall glacier in the pic below). You can also keep hiking up Hallet Peak, but I just didnt have the strength. The hike can be extended to overlook Andrews Glacier, which I have read that people actually have skied down to complete a loop ................. people have DIED trying to do that, so dont do it !!!!
Next time I go here I want to repeat the Flattop Mountain hike and also do the Chiquita-Ypsilon-Chapin peaks, plus hike the area around Granite Pass.
